Film shoot: Mini write-up
Today was fantastic!
I woke up at 6:00am and got ready for the day ahead, cup of coffee and some toast.
I met up with the rest of the crew, and was introduced to the presenter; a woman named Nicky, (Nikki, Nicki?) anyway she was brilliant, a really pleasant and motivated person, she kept us entertained as we waited for the make-up artist to arrive.
She never did arrive.
Despite the shaky beginning all was good, great weather and nice people. This was my first time on a film shoot and I was made to feel very welcome. I was a little apprehensive at first; mainly because of the 30 second demonstration on how to operate the sound capture device. Luckily we were using clip on mics instead of a boom so there wasn’t to much required of me.
Still, I was responsible for the entire audio element, and I was surprised that no one decided to check to make sure everything was going well. I didn’t (still don’t) know how to playback recorded data, so I was unable to confirm the quality of the recording. I’m pretty sure that it’s all good but there is that one daunting thought that maybe I messed up somehow.
I definitely feel as though this experience has added something to my knowledge about film making. I am very pleased to have been given the chance to participate in what I have felt to be a successful and enjoyable film shoot.
Next… The MOON!
